Growing up...
Caia and her older brother were born in San Diego to a mother who was nothing but a reflection of her addiction. They could have been any of the multitude of lovers who made their way through the doors over the years. Some were relationships that came as quickly as they began others were those who for a bit of drugs or some money she would show them a good time. Her mother's only thought for her next fix it was amazing some might say that either her brother or her survived to adulthood.
Growing up in the kind of place where people didn't care about others. It was all about what you could provide those that did care had their own problems and just couldn't find the time to worry about two little kids and if they were inclined to care it would stop the moment their powers came to light. People spread rumors saying their mother slept with a demon or something in exchange for drugs giving her kids strange abilities. Caia's gift made it so she drained the energy for anyone she touched. She could also defy gravity and her kiss could poison a person if she choose too.
However, the power she had no control of was draining energy. She needed to feed off of the life force of others and without control she feared hurting or worst killing someone. So, she took to wearing gloves to avoid contact with people and tries to avoid letting people get too close less they touch her bare skin.
A Ban on the World...
The people in the neighborhood they lived in viewed them as monsters and did everything in their power to treat them poorly. They would be cruel to them in any form that they could manage teaching Caia at a young age that people were harsh and their were only a handful she could relay on. It made her a bitter girl who clung to her brother the only person she felt understood what she was going through. Their mother just couldn't be bothered and the two of them only had each other. That was until he vanished leaving her alone in the world.
He was kidnapped by a man named Heil who was doing experiments trying to create the perfect weapon that he could use for his own purposes at the time she knew nothing of this she only knew her brother was gone and believed he like everyone else came to not want to be around her. So, she stayed with her mother till things got complicated and she almost killed one of her mother's lovers. She left it all behind striking out into the world on her own.
On my Own...
It would be because of this she would come to met her new family. Along the way she found others like herself. Those that had powers that were beaten or forgotten by the world around them. They all had their stories and one boy became her best friend and the two of them wanted to help others like them. They gathered more and more and formed their own society, hidden from the rest of society by the very powers that made them outcasts. Any one that came upon them would be dealt with and they protected their new family with everything they had. People quickly learned to avoid that place and people stumbling upon them because less and less.
Sometimes, they would go out into the world to steal supplies or things they needed to survive. Caia and her friend became the leaders of the ground of kids that called themselves the outsiders. It might have continued like this forever if it wasn't for the fact she found her brother. He had changed he was drove crazy by the experiments that were done to him yet he was still her brother. She swore she would find a way to pull him out of the madness and end Heil's experiments once and for all. After all he stole her brother from her and that is a crime for which their is no forgiveness.
